September 1999
This is my first high resolution (1024 x 768 was high res at the time) picture made in LightWave. I remember the X-Wing being the first model I made entirely in LightWave (using my old TrueSpace X-Wing as a guide) and this was the display scene for it. The clouds were made using fractal noise on a flat plane, the ocean was made using a crumple texture. A motion blurred spinning lightsource was used to simulate softer shadows. The X-Wing model here is unfinished, but I think I wanted to get it done before school started, so I rendered it regardless. Even now, 6 years later, the model isn't done yet. I'll get to it eventually.
